Book of Lies

17 years in……you would think I’d have learned my lesson by now. Never trust the “Book of Lies” (an amusing pseudonym for “Itinerary” that helps touring bands laugh at their own misfortune) but here I find myself, yet again, too long on a bus for no good reason…..and still driving. A mistake commonly made by the young and easily led…..the frequent fortune of men with longer futures than my own. I have no one to blame but myself. I should know better than to follow blindly the path of higher powers whose bottom lines are bigger than a baby’s bright eyes.

Time is the worst thing in the world to waste…..especially when it’s not just your own.

I’m sorry you guys where stuck on the bus longer than planned, but it didn’t seem like you wasted your time :D Your blog updates are never a waste and we enjoy hearing from both you and Tosh. Have a good night and a save drive tomorrow (hopefully the book of lies will be more truthfull tomorrow :D )

    Cheers Karina

  2. Time is a cruel B*ard – rushes the important fun parts while drawing the bad parts. It is unforunate that we can’t collect or save up this time and use it later during the important parts. I hope you find something to do with the coming hours, something to help you share the time with those you want to be with. Worst comes to worse I hope you find a way of pranking the bus mates.

    Thank you.

  3. Just wanted to say thanks for making “Lullabies for Bloodshot Eyes”, great CD! I’m listening to it (again) this morning (Gone Tomorrow) while making a spaghetti sauce & potato salad before the heat comes. I’ve worked 22 hours out of 48, so before todays treadmill starts at least I’ll have your music to enjoy.

  4. You may be on a bus or waiting for an interview or an airplane thinking you’re wasting time, but remember your music is out there working its magic all on its own. Today my wee one nodded off soundly to Safe Upon the Shore in the car on the way home. One minute she was awake and singing along to Good People, but as soon as that haunting new track came on, she was off to dreamland. Her big sister just shrugged and said “Doesn’t Sean always put her to sleep?” Indeed. England was our sure-fire lullaby when she was small. Somewhere is the one she asks for the most of late. But we’re still getting used to the new tunes and it looks like you’ve done it again.
So, thanks for that uncanny knack of getting the little ones to nod off … even when you think you’re being entirely useless across the continent.
    Cheers!
